DISCLAIMER

By utilising Responder Reference and the information contained within it, you agree to the following statement(s):

These guidelines are intended to be used by trained persons only, including (but not limited to) first aiders, CFR's, mountain rescue, police officers and other emergency responders. This guidance is not specific to any ambulance service trust or other agency, and you must ensure you adhere to your own training and scope of practise.

This site is intended to be used as an aide-memoire and to confirm correct drug administration. It also contains treatment algorithms and management plans that are intended to be used as a quick reference guide only. As such any deviation from your trust or service's direct training reflected in the guidelines needs to be discussed by a clinician within your trust, service, force or scheme. If you are not trained and competent, do not use any skills listed on this site.

The guidelines are advisory only and have been developed to help emergency responders in decision making. They are not a suitable alternative for sound clinical judgement. The guidelines cannot always contain all the information necessary for determining appropriate care and cannot address all individual situations. Therefore, individuals using these guidelines must ensure they have the appropriate knowledge and skills to enable suitable interpretation. If there is clinical uncertainty on-scene use clinical judgement and follow local guidelines and procedures, not Responder Reference content.
